Monterey Gourmet Foods has its roots in the sunny, Mediterranean-like coastline of Central California. Founded in 1989, we grew from a 400 square foot storefront where we produced great food by hand (food processors and hand operated pasta makers). We soon outgrew our surroundings. In 1994 we moved into a larger facility in Salinas, California (Monterey County) and adopted state-of-the-art packaging techniques to preserve flavor and extend product shelf-life. Monterey Gourmets was acquired by Pulmuone Foods USA in 2009, and we’ve continued to expand. Soon we’ll occupy more than 120,000 square feet in our new Gilroy, CA location. We employ 250 people.
