Food safety is of the utmost importance at Monterey Gourmet Foods. Regarding the recent reports of contaminated spinach, please be assured that we go through several processes to ensure our products reflect superior quality and food safety compliance.
The spinach that we use in our filled pastas is an individually quick frozen ingredient that has been heat treated (blanched to 185° F) prior to freezing. Our filled pastas are pasteurized to a minimum internal temperature of 165° F. In addition, all Monterey Gourmet Foods products must meet specific food safety criteria and undergo lab testing to support 100% compliance with these criteria.
